This Privacy Policy explains how PlatterQR ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, discloses and protects personal data when restaurants and their customers use our Free QR Code Menu service (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

3. Data We Collect
- Account & contact data: names and email addresses provided by restaurant admins.
- Uploaded content: menu images, product photos, PDF menus or other files uploaded to host the restaurant's digital menu. We store these so the menus are available to customers.
- Technical & analytics data: basic usage metrics (e.g., number of users, visits, page views, performance data) for improving the Service.
4. How We Use Data
- Provide, operate and maintain the Service.
- Host uploaded files so restaurants can serve digital menus to their customers.
- Communicate with account holders about their accounts and the Service.
- Analyze usage and improve features, performance, and reliability.
- Detect, prevent and address technical issues and abuse.
5. Third-Party Services
We use external providers to operate parts of the Service. These include, but are not limited to:
- Payments: Stripe (payments processing).
- File uploads/storage: UploadThing.
- Database: Neon.
- Email delivery: Resend.
Those providers will process data according to their own policies. We recommend reviewing their privacy documentation if you want details about how they handle data.
6. Cookies & Tracking
We may use cookies or similar technologies for session management, analytics, and service functionality. Cookie controls are available via your browser. Analytics data we collect is aggregated and used to understand Service usage.
7. User-Generated Content
Restaurants (account administrators) provide all menu content and uploaded files. You are solely responsible for the content you upload or publish. We may remove or disable content that violates our Terms of Service or applicable law.
8. Data Retention
We retain account information and uploaded files for as long as the account exists or as necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
9. Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards intended to protect personal data. No service can guarantee absolute security—if you discover a vulnerability or breach, contact us at support@platterqr.com.
10. Payments & Refunds
PlatterQR is currently offered free for a limited time. In the future we expect to introduce a one-time payment. Payments are non-refundable except where required by law or when a duplicate/erroneous charge occurs. Payment processing is handled by Stripe; we do not retain full card numbers on our servers.
11. Children
Our Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe we collected such data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. International Data Transfers
Data may be stored and processed in the locations where our service providers operate. By using the Service you consent to transfer of information to countries that may have different data protection laws than your country.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Service or email. The “Last updated” date above indicates when this policy was last revised.
